Higger Tor Heather - Peak District
Sunrise at Higger Tor, this was taken shortly after sunrise at 6.35am on a breezy September morning, the heather on Higger Tor in the Peak District had just reached it's peak with the beautiful purple colours catching the early morning golden lighting. I'd been out on Higger Tor since before the sunrise hoping to capture the sun as it rose above the horizon, a large bank of cloud had put a stop to these efforts but I was relieved when the sun had risen high enough and found a gap in the cloud to cast some beautiful directional sidelighting onto the nearby heather along with the tips of Callow Bank to the right of the shot and down into the Hope Valley in the distance.
