Loch Gamhna near Aviemore - Cairngorms - Scotland

Half way through the walk around Loch an Eilean in the Cairngorms National Park you have the option to visit the smaller Loch Gamhna, this much smaller loch is most easily visited if you do the circular Loch an Eilean trail walk. The mountains in the background are the Creag Fhiaclach & Creag Dhubh peaks. Most of the walk had been in overcast conditions, when we neared this the turn off to Loch Gamhna the clouds began to part and I was greeted by some of the best light from the whole Cairngorms trip. The light only lasted a few minutes so I had to be quite to try and line the elements up in the viewfinder. Composition was difficult here as the light was so strong on the right hand side of the shot I had to try and keep the bright reflections out of the shot but keep one of the focal points of the headland of trees in the frame, after adjusting position a few times I managed to get take this photograph.
